A Wanna be Blogger

I truly want to be a blogger. I really do plan to update my blog weekly but I can't even do it monthly. Why is that? I have nothing to say. My Friends would probably disagree that I have nothing to say but when it comes to updating the blog I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY! I do a lot of things. I have a wonderful garden and the vegetables are filling my freezer. I have been cutting jump rings out of the new colored wire that I got from Parawire and the colors are wonderful. I have been busy making chainmaille jewelry. I just had a week of company. We went to Carlsbad Caverns. I have made 4 necklaces over the past two weeks but have I shared them? NO!!!!!!!! I did get them posted on Artfire and Etsy. You can see them here www.darkridgecreations.artfire.com. Actually I don't talk to people much. I live in a very rural mountain community and leave home maybe once a week. I have never been good at idle chit chat. I am going to be visiting California for almost 4 weeks. I am very excited about this. Oh well, I will continue trying to post once a week and if I only post once a month I will be so happy. Thanks for listening.

Quilled Blank Note Card with Yellow Roses

Quilled Blank Note Card with Yellow Roses

This note card is embellished with quilled designs. Each quilled item is personally made by me. The note card measures 4x6 and includes the envelope. These cards can be mailed. A thin piece of card stock is included and should be placed over the quilling when inserted into envelope for mailing. Extra postage may be required when mailing quilled cards.

The note card is blank inside for you to add your own message. You could write your message on a small separate piece of paper to include in your card. Quilled cards can be considered a frameable art. Framing instructions are included for you to pass along with the card which makes these a gift and a greeting. (via Dark Ridge Creations - Art Fire)

Blues and Feathers Necklace

This second necklace is made with designer acylic beads. I came across these types of beads a while ago and they were intriguing. They look like glass but are lighter weight. There are no seams in them like plastic beads have. These beads allow me to make larger necklaces without the weight. Southwest style necklace with silver metal feathers. Necklace is 20" long. The Large blue beads are designer acrylic to reduce weight and accented with silver plated flower endcaps. The accent beads are aqua/silver cathedral beads and black faceted beads. It is finished with a lobster claw clasp.

SNAKE Bead Crochet Necklace

I have been busy taking pictures of items that I created quite a while ago and I wanted to share a few with you. I have posted both of these on Etsy and ArtFire. I joined ArtFire about a month ago and I am just getting around to posting things. It is located here:
http://www.artfire.com/modules.php?name=Shop&seller_id=27000

So this first necklace is a bead crochet necklace made of size 8/0 bronze seed beads with bronze colored cubes beads as accents. It is finished with a sterling silver end caps and clasp. It measures 24" long. People have commented that it looks like a snake hence the name.

Split Loom Necklace

I decided to go back to the loom work I used to do many years ago. I love working with a bead loom and I love the designing. This piece is created with size 15 seed beads. Each bead in the loose neck is strung on the thread prior to warping the loom. I am very proud of this piece. I have 3 more projects in varying stages that I am working on. I do take special requests working with a picture of your choice. Split loom necklaces start at $200.00. Please email me if you are interested in a special request necklace and we will see what we can create. Let me know your thoughts on this piece.
